"RECOVERY HAS GIVEN ME A SECOND CHANCE AT LIFE."

- Elizabeth Walker

About Me

Hey, I’m Elizabeth, and I am a Recovery Coach, Meditation Teacher, and Reiki Master. I am also a recovering addict and alcoholic and mum to two daughters.

Whilst in active addiction, I was able to function. I was able to raise my daughters as a single parent and set up and run a successful business, but I felt like a fraud! Until it all became too much, and I faced my demons head-on.

There were two monumental points in my recovery journey; the first was when I admitted that I had a problem and asked for help. The second was when I left the inpatient treatment centre.

Leaving the safety of the bubble that had offered me refuge from life, the group that had become like family, who had loved, accepted, and encouraged me even in my worst moments, and now becoming responsible for my recovery, I embarked on a new journey. I felt like a baby being sent into the big wide world to fend for myself.

However, as the fog lifted, I realised that my 20-year career in the wellness industry had equipped me with the tools, knowledge, and experience needed to make this transition smoothly. It became evident that my true purpose in life was to apply the expertise I had gained over those two decades to support and empower recovering addicts during those precious days, months, and years of early recovery.

Engagement rate over the six-month post-discharge time period was higher for participants in the recovery coaching intervention at 84% compared to 34% who navigated the journey alone.

I am no stranger to the challenges and rewards that recovery can bring. I have seen many good people fall prey to a recurrence of this life-threatening condition because they haven’t been able to access the tools, strategies, and support that make this second chance at life worth fighting for.

This is where I can make a difference; regardless of whether you have come into recovery via a treatment centre, detox service or any other route, I am here to support you.

It is my mission to make a positive impact on the success rates in recovery... No one decides they want to become an addict; it is a way of handling the trauma (big and little), emotions, and challenges that life throws, and the stigma surrounding it can be devastating.

I dream of the day when every recovering addict and alcoholic feels safe to share their story proudly as it is one of pure courage, determination, and profound personal growth - the day where they feel empowered by their journey and they are able to widely acknowledge it as a sign of strength, tenacity, and success.

Your Journey

You created a second chance at life for yourself but aren’t quite sure where to start actually living it beyond prioritising your recovery.

Together, we will dive beneath the surface to rewrite the stories that have been dictating your reality until now. Reunite yourself with who you truly are, and be equipped with the strategies and tools that make life start to work for you.

Be the empowered warrior you are: resilient, compassionate, confident, living the fulfilled, purposeful, and joyful life you deserve, knowing you are able to overcome any challenge life may throw at you.

To me, a warrior is a person who is courageous, fierce, and compassionate, who is willing to take on their demons and grow through the experience - someone who can look in the mirror without condemning themself.

A warrior unconditionally loves and accepts themselves and others. They have the courage to delve deep within and shine a light on their fears, vulnerability, and aspirations and has the knowledge and wisdom to know that they, and only they, can change their situation, and they have the power to do so.

You are a physical warrior for you have picked yourself up after falling down, an emotional warrior for taking on your inner battles, and a spiritual warrior for realising that existence is vaster than the eye can see.
